In-House

1st/2nd Grade

Our youngest Bears build skills and have fun through coach-pitch games and fundamentals-focused practices. It’s all about learning the game and having fun!

1st/2nd grade teams >

3rd/4th Grade

Players start learning to pitch and take the next step in developing their game. The focus is on growing confidence, building skills, and having fun on the field.

3rd/4th grade teams >

5th/6th Grade

As players continue to grow, they work on honing their skills and learning new aspects of the game. It’s a great mix of development, competition, and teamwork.

The WBBA In-House program is a developmental baseball program designed to teach baseball fundamentals through weekly practices and games. This league is a great option for families seeking a less rigorous baseball schedule and/or preparing players for the next level of baseball - whether that be traveling or Gopher State Rec.

In-House League Details:

  • Teams are made up of White Bear Lake Area youth and volunteer coaches, formed primarily by neighborhood and age level
  • Coaches will communicate team rosters and schedules after teams are formed
  • Coaches handout uniforms to players with sizes based on your selection during registration
  • Typically teams practice & play 2 times weekly (1st/2nd on Tue & Thu; 3rd/4th/5th/6 on Mon & Wed)
  • League begins in mid-May, based on field playability
  • Playing time is equitable among all players, regardless of skill level
  • Season includes a mid-season Jamboree weekend and a local end-of-season tournament
  • 1st/2nd graders are pitched to by a coach
  • 3rd/4th graders begin pitching in game, which can create a longer game experience, but it's a necessary hurdle and improves each year as the players gain skill
  • 5th/6th graders continue to hone their pitching skills

If your player is interested in a more advanced league option, please check out our traveling league, which is available to players in 3rd-8th grade.
