Registration for 2012 Season

In an effort to impact registration fees equally, with a minimal impact to the budgets of all WBBA families, registration fees for 2012 have been adjusted to include up-front costs for fund raising.  Please read the two sections below specific to Traveling and In-House leagues for impacts and options.

Traveling Registration Fees:

All traveling players are required to sell three $20 fund raiser cards.  This $60 fee will be charged to each player at registration.  Then, when players sell their cards the players/parents will keep the full $20 per card [$60 total].  So when a player has sold all three of their cards, they have covered their full increase for fund raising.

Opt-Out option – Traveling players are given the option to Opt-Out of fund raising.  If this choice is selected, registration fees will increase $40 in 2012. [Different amount than the $60 fund raiser option because this larger amount includes fees that must be paid to vendor]  This option results in the same fees to WBBA, the option is to players/parents whether they want to Opt-In or Opt-Out of fund raising.

Note: after selling first three fund raiser cards, players can sell additional cards and will receive $5 for each card sold, same as in prior years.

In-House Registration Fees:

All In-House players are required to participate in fund raising [no Opt-Out option], but there is a smaller fund raising commitment, determined by age.

7-8 Registration Fees:

All 7-8 year old players will pay $10 in additional fees when they register and will receive two Polar Chev raffle tickets.  Then, when players sell their raffle tickets the players/parents will keep the full $5 per ticket [$10 total].  So when a player has sold both of their raffle tickets, they have covered their full increase for fund raising.

9-12 Registration Fees:

All 9-12 year old players will pay $25 in additional fees when they register and will receive five Polar Chev raffle tickets.  Then, when players sell their raffle tickets the players/parents will keep the full $5 per ticket [$25 total].  So when a player has sold their five raffle tickets, they have covered their full increase for fund raising.

Note: in addition to Polar Chev raffle tickets, In-House players can also sell fund raiser cards and will receive $5 for each card sold, same as in prior years.

Polar Chevrolet Goes To Bat for White Bear Baseball as

Part of Chevy Youth Baseball Initiative Sweeping Nation

Polar Chevrolet to provide White Bear Baseball with new equipment, monetary donation, instructional clinics; Additional funds via Chevy Vehicle Giveaway

White Bear Lake (April 21, 2010) –  Polar Chevrolet announced today it will be investing support in White Bear Lake through a partnership with White Bear Baseball.  Polar Chevrolet will provide baseball equipment, instructional clinics, a monetary donation, and an opportunity to raise an additional $10,000 in funds through a Chevy vehicle giveaway-fundraiser.  The effort by Polar Chevrolet is part of the Chevy Youth Baseball initiative sweeping the nation from March through July 2010.

“Chevrolet has a long history with baseball at the national level.  We wanted to bring that excitement and commitment to youth baseball, in the communities where our customers and their families live,” said Matt Kowal, Principal for Polar Chevrolet. “Youth baseball has always played an important role in White Bear Lake so we are thrilled to support our kids in a meaningful way.”

The Polar Chevrolet will present the White Bear Baseball with equipment kits complete with equipment bags, baseball buckets, dry-erase coach’s clipboards and Chevy Youth Baseball t-shirts.  The sponsorship includes clinics with experienced instructors from former MLB/MiLB players and coaches or the Ripken Baseball professional staff.

In addition, a one-time monetary donation check will be presented by Polar Chevrolet to White Bear Baseball.  The team also will have an opportunity to raise additional funds for their use as part of a Chevy Youth Baseball Fundraiser.  Sponsored leagues across the country will each receive 2,000 fundraiser entry tickets to distribute for a suggested donation, and the league will keep 100% of proceeds raised.  At the end of the fundraiser, there will be five winners of a Chevy Equinox or Chevy Malibu vehicle of choice (up to $30,000 in value), and in each participating market there will be a secondary prize of a home entertainment center valued at $1,000.

Chevrolet is recognized on the national level as the “Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball.”  “At some point, we hope the kids or their parents will consider a Chevrolet as an official vehicle of their household,” said Kowal.  “Our vehicles are ideal for transporting families, teams and their gear.”

Chevrolet has expanded its support of MLB to the youth baseball players in communities across the country through the Chevy Youth Baseball program. The Chevy Youth Baseball program began in Atlanta in 2006. Now in its fifth season, the grass roots initiative has activation in more than 20 states and seeks to establish a positive connection between local dealers and the communities they serve.   Since its beginning, more than $7 million dollars has been raised by Chevy for community youth baseball leagues.
